The Office of Genesee County Sheriff Robert J.
Pickell collaborated with Genesee County
Commissioner Joseph Graves to provide a community
response to the recent heroin overdose deaths in
Genesee County. In February 2011, there were three
overdose deaths within a one week span. The
collaborative team contacted community members,
family members of the victims, and school officials
to discuss the program "Chasing the Dragon". The
phrase "Chasing the Dragon" means to continually
seek the next best high.
