Inmates in the Genesee County
Jail are allowed to have people visit them one day a week. Each inmate
can have two (2) visitors during each of their two -15 minute visit
periods. All people
wishing to visit an inmate must be on the inmate's Visitors List prior to the Visit Day. Only an inmate in the Jail can add or delete someone
from their Visitors List. You should make contact with an inmate
either by phone or mail to ensure you are on their Visitor List (see
below). You must be at least 17 years old and a have photo ID to visit
an inmate. Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children count as a visitor, so one child and one adult is the most that can
visit at one time.
An Inmate's Visit Day is determined by which Pod they are housed in
the Jail.
-
Mondays: Pods: 3-A, 3-B, 3-C and 3-D
(females)
-
Tuesday: Pods: 4-A, and 4-B.
-
Wednesday: Pods: 4-C and 4-D.
-
Thursday: Pods: 5-B, 5-C, and 5-D.
-
Fridays: No
Visits. Church Services Only.

Inmates must be assigned to a Pod before they are allowed visits. It
generally takes 3 days of being in Jail before an inmate is assigned to a
Pod.
